Interface is known as the functional and physical union that is made between two tools, structures or devices that work independently of each other. In that order, communication between a person and a computer is possible due to an interface.

The term interface comes from the English word interface, which means a communication or contact surface.

Due to the realization of these rules, whoever uses the interface gets to enter the data that is given to him and, in the same way, he can execute the actions that the system that owns the digital zone offers him through said application.

The properties are related to the identification, search, information and action components that the web page contains.

Interface types


User interface

The user interface is known as the channel used by a person to connect with a computer or machine. They are usually easy for users to understand and use.

It includes add-ons such as windows, mouse, keyboard, menus, among others. All these elements are means by which effective communication is generated between the user and the device .

Command line interface

It consists of a tool to manage with rules written to an application or program that is hidden underneath. This interface is known as a command console. The data is manipulated in the simplest way possible, without graphics, only with the texts .

Commands are written as lines of text, and if applications respond, they usually do so by placing data on successive lines. Almost all programs can be created to give the user some kind of command line interface.

Graphical user interface

In this kind of interface, people operate the system by pointing and clicking on the pictures or icons on the screen that symbolize the properties of the application.

It is based on the fact that people quickly and easily identify the symbols that the phrases or words they read. They are usually linked to other properties, such as the use of an active mouse interface with drop-down application menus, check boxes and dialog boxes , among other similar components.

Menu interface

Give people an on- screen catalog of available sections. In response to the menu, an individual is conditioned to the exposed alternatives, the user does not need to have knowledge of the system but must have notions of the tasks that he executes.

The menus are determined to use the mouse or keyboard, the sections can be verified by letter, key term or number, the menus can be hidden until the person wants to use them.

Hardware interface

It consists of the conglomerate of devices that facilitate the person to exchange information with the computer, being able to enter them (buttons, keys, levers) or interpret them (screens, markers, tools).

Question and answer interface

In the question and answer interface, the computer places a question on the screen for the person who uses the device, the user enters an answer, through a click or a keyboard.

The computer then acts on this input according to the application, generally moving on to the next question, which in turn generates a text box; this works as a question and answer interface within another program .

 Natural language interface 

This kind of interface facilitates the connection between humans and electronic devices, where linguistic phenomena, such as words, phrases, and stipulations, work as interface controls.
